In 2016, we started at Birpara, “Grace English School” in the district of Alipurduar, West Bengal, an area with many closed/defunct tea plantations. In these areas there is an enormous need. It is totally free aided school. Children comes from very poor background family, here the living is very difficult as wages of tea garden is very poor and uncertain and some of the tea gardens are closed down. Due to these typical situation children are left alone with no education and good food (nutritious). Therefore Grace has decided to start a school for these children and give them education, food and educational materials too.
There are now 500 children attending this school. These are picked up every day by our school buses from 12 different tea plantations. They receive instruction and a hot meal before being driven back home to their families.
